To Deepen its Service Offerings in Operations Improvement, Documentation Training, and Reimbursement Coding

Brault, a national provider of practice management and revenue optimization solutions, announced its latest round of strategic hires to help lead and develop new client service initiatives for its portfolio of emergency medicine and acute care specialty clients across the country.
Jason Adler, MD, FACEP, joins Brault as Vice President of Practice Improvement. As part of his role, Dr. Adler will be directly responsible for physician training in documentation and EMR usage. He will also advise on issues related to provider productivity, malpractice risk mitigation, and hospital relationship management.
Cara L. Friederich, CPC-I, CPC, COC, joins Brault as Vice President of Coding Integrity – where she’ll assume the leadership role in coding and coder training, reimbursement, and quality assurance. She will also advise Brault clients on payer audits and MIPS / MACRA reimbursement policy and procedures.

Dr. Adler is a board-certified emergency physician and a nationally-recognized expert in coding and reimbursement. He is a distinguished author, featured in ACEP Now, EP Monthly, and in the Journal of Emergency Medicine. He has served multiple terms on the Board of Directors and as Councilor for Maryland ACEP, and has been a Physician Auditor for Medicaid in Maryland. In addition to his full-time role with Brault, Dr. Adler also serves as Assistant ED Medical Director for the MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, reviews malpractice claims for the U.S. Army, and is part of the Novitas / Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee.
Ms. Friederich adds more than 24 years’ experience in coding, auditing, and compliance support for healthcare clients throughout the country. She is a past President of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC, California chapter) and a presenter at the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA). Ms. Friedrich has also been published in HCCA Compliance Today and in AAPC Healthcare Business Monthly.
